For almost 20 years, Dr. Dayna Long has been as a pediatrician at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. Since 2015, Dr. Long has served as the Medical Director of the Center for Community Health and Engagement. Dr. Long’s work focuses on population and preventative health through research, community engagement and programs focused on achieving health equity for all children.
In 2012, she developed the hospital’s Family Information and Navigation Desk (FIND) which addresses the social and environmental factors affecting children’s health outcomes.
As founder and director of FINDconnect, Dr. Long has been instrumental in building the capacity of health care providers to have the technology tools necessary to screen, refer and provide case management to families whom have unmet basic needs.
